JOB DESCRIPTION:

MUST-HAVES:

·         8+ years' experience with:

·         Designing and implementing ETL processes using Informatica

·         Data Warehouse Design experience.

·         Strong experience w/ Informatica Power Center 8 or higher.

·         Experience w/ SQL and PL-SQL

·         Experience in Oracle and MySQL database schemas

·         Understanding of SSIS packages

 

PLUSSES:

·         Experience using Erwin (DW tool)

·         Experience using Ralph Kimball Star and Star Flake Schema Methodologies

 

DAY-TO-DAY:

·         Design and review logical, physical ER models and develop dimensional models

·         Builds ETL components according to ETL specifications. In addition to code function, developers must address performance, dependency, restart-ability, auditing, error handling, etc.

·         Test functioning of ETL against specifications. Requires exercise of all possible code branches, stressing ETL with poor quality data, testing environmental risk.

·         Tests user-interfaces to ensure that data meets user expectations. This includes visual quality of interfaces as well as reconciliation of data with sources systems

·         Work with City department's to develop ETL operations Informatica to supplement the DW/BI initiatives

·         Converting/Migrate the SSIS code to Informatica environment

·         Writing complex SQL and PL/SQL code

·         Coordinating with database administrators to create a test environment for testing ETL Code before deploying them to production

·         Trouble shooting service account permission issues on production databases

·         Tuning SQL and T-SQL queries

·         Documenting Informatica code in a way that they can be modified at a later date
