The Blueprint Trading SCOM (System Center Operation Manager) developer will be responsible for establishing a SCOM monitoring system that enables Shell to monitor the health of the application services and
consolidate events, alerts, and health status information from across Shell/Blueprint organization. This solution is to be developed to enable Shell IT to proactively identify and resolve potential issues before they
cause downtime. The candidate will work with an implementation and support team who is deploying SCOM 2012 within a large enterprise environment. The candidate is responsible using the standard Shell Project
Delivery Framework (PDF) for Design, Development, Configuration, Implementation and Administration of a SCOM monitoring system. There will be several assets that will be put under the new SCOM
environment. The developer will act as a Management Pack developer Subject Matter Expert for the team as design and deployment take place across the organization. Provide expertise in SCOM design, authoring
and related expertise as well as technical and process recommendations to ensure robust and sustainable SCOM-based monitoring services. The person should have a history of having performed SCOM design and
development in support of technically and organizationally complex environments with differing monitoring needs. The candidate must have a demonstrated strong commitment to teamwork and mentoring.
Experience with SCOM 2007 being upgraded to 2012
Monitoring and environment of 50-60 servers, mostly custom BizTalk monitoring and alerts
Want to make sure existing alters continue to work
Script new monitoring configurations to leverage functionality in 2012, and extend the monitoring to additional servers & databases
Potential integration with their HP BSM system
