Purpose: Database Analyst/Developer to join their growing team. The ideal candidate will act as a bridge between the operations and development and development groups to document, administer, perform and explain all DB related tasks.
Essential Functions:
· Design, develop, and optimize SQL databases, SSRS reports, and SSIS packages.
· Troubleshoot database performance issues using tools like Confio/New Relic and techniques, such as execution plan evaluation.
· Proactively monitor and perform database performance tuning activities including setting up of database partitioning, to improve overall application performance.
· Advisory assistance to the DBA Operations team when related to production deployment.
· Assist in the development Business Intelligence/Data Warehouse solutions and manage data from diverse sources.
· Participate in database requirements gathering for new database projects.
· Participate in the design and implementation of database load and stress testing.
· May participate in after-hours support as a backup to Operational DBA.
Additional Responsibilities:
· Work closely with development, database administrators, database architects and operation teams develop SQL database, SSRS, and SSIS
· Work closely with 3rd party offshore resources when assistance is needed.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Required:
· Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent.
· Knowledge of SQL Server 2012 and 2014.
· 3+ years of experience in T-SQL development.
· 3+ years of experience in database design.
· 3+ years of experience in SSRS and SSIS development.
· 2+ years of experience in Business Intelligence/Data Warehouse solutions development.
· Advanced written and verbal communications skills, including active listening and ability to facilitate meetings and take notes.
· Experience working with large, highly available, and/or high-transaction databases.
· Ability to multi-task and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
· Works well both independently and with a team.
Preferred:
· Experience with Confio Ignite, Red-Gate, and New Relic
· Experience with ETL
