Title : Network Engineer

Location : Richmond, VA

Duration :  6 Month Contract          

Job Description :

Candidates have to be local and their CCNA should be active with certification number.   First interview is in person 

1)    Associate Degree in Health Sciences, Computer Sciences, Information Technology or Business Administration required.  Demonstrated technical expertise and experience may satisfy requirement.

2)      Minimum two (3) years' experience installing and maintaining Cisco hardware and software including routers, switches, wireless and VOIP.

                 3)      Required certifications: CCNA; CCNP Preferred or on track to complete in 1 year

4)      Working knowledge of routing protocols including IGRP, EIGRP, RIP, OSPF and BGP

5)      Working knowledge of Cisco routers, switches, wireless and VOIP hardware and software.

6)      Working knowledge of LAN/WAN architecture including Layer 2/Layer 3, SONET, MPLS, etc.

                    7)      Demonstrated knowledge and familiarity with project management software, Microsoft  Project, Excel and other spreadsheet, graphics, and word processing 

8)      Demonstrated ability and willingness to travel within our multiple locations.

9)      Effective oral and written communication skills demonstrated at all levels.

III. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

 

1)      Provides customer service as defined in our Service Level Agreement and demonstrates   collaborative relationships within Information Services and other Richmond departments.

2)      Implements, supports and optimizes our LAN/WAN infrastructure including routers, switches, wireless and VOIP hardware and software.

3)      Provides 1st and 2nd tier support to our EUC Personnel.

4)      Participates with Senior Network/Network Manager in the development of system-wide networking standards.

5)      Troubleshoots and resolves network hardware and software problems in accordance with our Service Level Agreement.

6)      Assists the Senior Network Engineer with the support and optimization of our Network Infrastructure

7)      Maintains accurate documentation for all devices consistent with our documentation policies.

8)      Develops, maintains, and communicates I/S end user computing policies, procedures and standards.

9)      Participates in the implementation and monitoring of our strategic and tactical technology plans.

10)  Performs facility rounds and on-call duties.
