Role: Vertica Developer

Location: Seattle, WA

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: 3+ months contract 

Client :  TCS

Rate : $60/hr on c2c

Job Description :

There is a lot of Development needs, recommendations on improvements, etc. Very much a consultant who can come in, analyze what is going on and what improvements must be made to make more performance efficient.

Tableau connects to 45 different DB's and there are 200+configurations for their Data Connectors.  Their Devs need live DB's that simulate real data in all of these configurations to test against on a daily basis.  These 3 DB Devs will join a team of 5 others and will be the experts on either Teradata, Oracle or Vertica on this team.  Tableau has existing databases built for all 3 of these today, but their performance isn't adequate, so they need an expert to review and figure out how to tune up and choose new Hardware, clean up the data, key Fields correctly, acquire licenses as needed and reconfigure these databases to meet the engineers needs.  They may need to go find other databases full of enterprise data to load into them as needed or convert data from other Tableau DB's.  They will need to meet with the Engineers and understand the requirements and then design the DB to those parameters (ex; if need data with a large number of Rows, but with limits on character size, etc...then build to those specs). 

They will also help train and get other team members up to speed on these particular database environments.
