Lead Software Engineer, Web Technology and Integration Services 
SUMMARY 
The Lead Software Engineer is responsible for the design, development and support of Web Technology and Integration Services Development. This individual will be required to work closely with cross functional teams within the technology organization, responsible for the development and support of systems in addition to leading and mentoring development resources on the project. A successful candidate will have strong knowledge of Java and web services, design patterns, leadership skills, excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills, an ability to quickly learn new technology and strong communications skills. 

Responsibilities 
· Completes all technical development tasks pertaining to applications per approved projects and allocated budgets; 
· Interfaces extensively with functional users to confirm the applicability of design alternatives identifies and recommends cost effective options, and address user concerns; 
· Interfaces as necessary with all critical integration points to insure that applications are integrating successfully and efficiently with all requested applications; 
· Supports necessary internal quality assurance, system testing, and load testing to ensure that the application is of high quality when released to users for the User Acceptance Testing phase of the project (manage all necessary migration of software code to/from the respective environments - development, quality assurance, training); 
· Works closely with end users and corporate sponsors during the User Acceptance Testing phase of the project to insure that any and all necessary changes to the application can be accommodated to meet user requirements while also honoring timeline and budget restrictions; 
· Provides detailed deployment documentation to the support group to insure preparedness to deploy new releases into the production environment within the SLA windows 
· Designs, implements, and maintains databases with respect to access methods, access time, validation checks, and statistical methods; 
· Works with Offshore Development Team to oversee the development of designs; 
· Maps workflow and creates design specifications based on functional requirements; 
· Translates logical information model to efficient physical database designs; 
· Configures, analyzes, designs, develops, and maintains program code and applications to support business processes and functions; works on large, complex installations; 
· Focus primarily on design and development of innovative business solution systems. 
· Designs and consults on data design, database architecture; data warehousing blueprints, evaluates hardware and software platforms, and integrates systems. 
Qualifications 

MINIMUM 
· 5 years of experience of with Java, and SQL/relational databases 
· 5 years of experience of with Java web technologies (Apache, JBOSS, JSF, Facelets, SEAM) 
· 3 years of experience as Architect/Lead Developer of complex enterprise Java application 
· Experience using client-side technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Ajax, JSON) 
· Knowledgeable in JBOSS FUSE middleware integration technologies (Apache Camel, JMS, Karaf) 
· Knowledgeable in Java web services (SOAP/REST) 
· Knowledgeable in JVM Performance tuning, XML, JUnit 

PREFERRED 
· Bachelor's degree in Technology or related discipline and 5+ years of relevant work experience. 
· 3 years of experience of with JBOSS middleware integration technologies (JBOSS Fuse, Apache Camel, ActiveMQ, Karaf) 
· Experience working with Agile Software Development teams and tools 
· Experience with continuous integration practices and tools (Jenkins, Ansible, Git, Subversion, Maven) 
· Experience with JavaScript frameworks (JQuery) 
· Experience with Microsoft .NET (C#) 
· Experience in telecommunications industry desired.

GENERAL SUMMARY: 
The Server System Admin represents a highly technical and experienced leadership position in Digital Services. This position will be called to represent Digital Services and Network Mgmt by internal and external organizations. They are assigned project assignments and monitor their progress to ensure successful completion. They are expected to be able to evaluate and react to all technical server issues within the complex with minimal direction. Also, they are expected to use their technical knowledge and ability to work with others to solve technical issues in a timely fashion. The Server System Admin also acts as a resource for all members of the Digital Services dept providing guidance and direction. An individual in this position will work towards making the production environment network more reliable by leading evaluations and assessments of operating systems, patches, upgrades, and applications. A Server Systems Admin will also perform as primary resources for project based activities. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

1. Provides fourth-level support for internal departments and organizations. 

2. Operation, administration and maintenance of production systems, including the networking between servers and other system elements. 

3. Operation, administration and maintenance of all security, storage and load balancing systems. 

4. Participate in planning for server and application growth. 

5. Evaluates and performs performance tuning of the residential, commercial, and educational production environments. 

6. Evaluates new technology and takes part in vendor selection. 

7. Leads special projects under direction from Lead(s) and/or senior management. 

8. Lead architecture, design and implementation of new technology and new product features/functions. 

9. Develops and implements improved troubleshooting methodologies for diagnosis and research of system problems. 

10. Maintains and administers system availability. 

11. Primary resource for project-based activities.

Prior knowledge/experience with Internet Video applications. 
Strong knowledge of video, networking and telephony technologies 

Education: Degree in Computer Science, engineering, or related field is required. SUN and related technology certifications are required. Completion of vendor specific SME programs or equivalent training required.
