Job Description:

Mandatory Skills

RAC, OEM Grid, ASM, 10G, 11G, 12 C Versions

Solid Experience on migrations from one version to another version. Currently the client is migrating from 10G to 12 C

Excellent communication skills.

 

Job Description

Provide database administration, maintenance, monitoring, configuration, troubleshooting and performance-tuning

Administer database accounts, access rights, privileges, roles and profiles. Generate any violation reports as and when required

Perform database backup and recovery, and database refreshes

Perform regular database housekeeping and maintenance activities necessary to keep the database in a healthy state and at optimal performance

Monitor and analyze disk usage, table extents, etc, of all the databases, and alert or report as per procedures

Perform capacity planning and/or management on system and database resources based on current applications and utilization rate.

Estimate and plan for growth with information provided on future application requirements, database growth, etc

Database objects deployment (e.g. creation/modification/deletion of database objects), script deployment and execution, load and/or extract data

Provide support to DR setup and testing

Perform software upgrades, installations and migration of database as and when required

Apply database patches as & when required

Handle service requests, incidents and change/release requests as per MMC guidelines

Co-ordinate with cross functional teams

Create, modify and drop instances and databases with adherence to instance & database naming conventions

Suggest, evaluate and implement any new tools for databases

Create, modify, review scripts required for the maintenance of databases and instances

Provide support and services to third-party vendors

Set up database auditing, manage audit trail and generate audit related reports when required

Documentation of all planned and un-planned database activities

Database architecture & design – ONLY PHYSICAL – NOT LOGICAL AS IN SCHEMA

Design backup or DR strategy

Vendor license management (contribution to the process)

Ability to liaise with other Teams regarding hosting new environment issues and setup, including knowledge of Firewalls appropriately.

Database software system Backup/recovery –Design

RDBMS Environnements Design, Maintenance /DBA SOP /Guidelines

Consultation/technology Advice specific to databases

Planning for Database Software upgrade Evaluation

Quote request/project consulting (participation on the same)

Defining new RDBMS features

Participate in DB related software evaluation

Application specific recovery - ONLY Related to database
