Sr. Java/ Web UI developer
Location: Ft. Worth (Dallas) TX
Duration: 1 year
Support and technical leadership for development of multiple web, mobile, and desktop applications. Interface with management, business analysts, project managers, IT Architects and other developers, along with internal customers, to understand requirements and develop needs according to business requirements.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Work closely with software architects to ensure decisions meet long term enterprise growth needs
· Maintain current applications which includes, but is not limited to, bug fixes, feature enhancements and performance tuning
· Troubleshoot and debug complex issues; Identify and implements solutions.
· Lead and mentor less senior developers
· Works with product managers, product owners, end users, graphic designers and developers to wireframe, design and implement interactive designs for new product applications, as well as optimizing and rethinking application features and UI flow for multiple applications
· Work with a team to create detailed project specifications, requirements and estimates
· Work to optimize product UI design & flow that address' business, brand, market and user requirements.
· Ensure tasks get completed on time and within scope
· Work with production operations department to ensure deployments roll out smoothly and customer group support is met
· Research and implement new technologies to enhance current processes, security and performance
· Document validation of design decisions
· Develop and enforce policy and procedural changes within the development group
· Develop to coding standards and adhere to best practices and security guidelines
· Responsible for leading code reviews
· Develop and provide support for multiple applications
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Undergraduate degree in CS/CE/CIS/MIS/Engineering/Technology or related field or equivalent experience and or training
· 10+ years total development experience
· 5+ years web application development experience
· 3+ years mobile application development experience
· Experience with C#, XML, HTML, ASP.NET, JavaScript, AngularJS, CSS and other web and mobile development technologies
· Comprehensive knowledge and understanding on leveraging cross browser, cross platform and cross device compatibility
· Experience with implementing applications with standard UI Components and with connecting applications to back end services
· Proven experience with JSON, REST, SOAP and other similar web services
· Extensive knowledge of object oriented programming
· Extensive knowledge of common data structures and algorithms
· Extensive knowledge of design patterns and best practices
· Knowledge of design patterns and best practices
· Knowledge of PCI Compliance / OWASP standards
· Ability to scrutinize applications and services to ensure they adhere to security standards
· Must have extensive knowledge of the software development process, including release management.
· Ability to support multiple projects at the same time
· Ability to provide mentorship, leadership and advice on an architectural and project level, including effective communication with key business stakeholders, subject matter experts, and senior management and senior staff
· Ability to facilitate enterprise level (SOA) mobile application solutions
· Ability to provide guidance and steering on technology movements, latest tools and adoption of latest mobile development trends
· Must be able to brainstorm and communicate technology ideas and issues with peers and IT management
· Must be highly collaborative and able to work with different teams
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to effectively interact with all levels within the organization; outstanding presentation skills
· Excellent leadership capabilities
· Excellent organizational and documentation skills
· Experience with building out both customer facing applications and business-facing applications preferred
· Networking knowledge (Sockets, TCP/IP, UDP) preferred
· Demonstrated project management methodology experience, including IT delivery methods
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Ability and willingness to provide 24x7 production support, as assigned
· Knowledge of Visual Studio preferred
· Experience with .NET web services, WCF, WPF and applications preferred
· Experience with diagnostics tools (Tealeaf, Fiddler, IE Inspector, HTTP Analyzer) preferred
· Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS) experience preferred
· Experience with Microsoft SQL Server / T-SQL preferred
· Experience with Oracle PL/SQL, DB2 SQL preferred
· Experience with C++, VB.NET, Visual Basic preferred
· Experience with AngularJS, JavaScript and Mobile Technologies preferred
· Knowledge of airline business systems preferred
