Description:      

Responsible for maintaining the day-to-day support of the hardware and software that protects information systems from network attacks by using Firewalls, Virtual Private Networks (VPN), Proxy Servers, and Intrusion Detection (IDS) systems. Works with peers, management, and external contacts to investigate, analyze, and respond to anomalies as well as research, test, and implement new technologies. Researches, monitors, and identifies security and virus threats. Responds to threats by alerting other departments. Creates and modifies security rules in Firewalls, Proxy Servers, VPN, and Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS). Troubleshoots network connectivity through Firewall devices by performing network traces, analyzing data, and implementing solutions. Performs management of Internet Usage Reports, Digital Certificates, Remote Internet Access, Antivirus and SPAM controls, and Domain Names. AAS degree in Computer Science or equivalent and 4 yrs. experience in the Information Technology field.
