Unix Admin (with exp on AIX, installing / maintaining software like Websphere, Oracle, BuildForge, Jenkins on AIX)

Role:

Systems Administrator experience should include working with Application and Project teams as well as Storage, Database, Market Data, Networks and Hardware Engineering teams, including IT Facilities Management. Individual must be comfortable working with these teams in the planning of major infrastructure or application changes.
Experience supporting Solaris and Linux in a large scale Production environment.
Extensive and proven experience of advanced OS troubleshooting, OS patching, Veritas Product Suite, Shell scripting, Application deployments, Software installation and Disaster Recovery testing.Individual should also be comfortable covering simple support issues as required.
Liaise with Off-shore Support teams, Incident and Problem Management teams as well as Business Unit clients, conversing and highlighting issues or assisting them in the planning and implementation of major project work.
Clear understanding of the ITIL processes and an understanding of Incident, Problem and Change Management.
Comfortable working under pressure and exhibit strong multi-tasking skills, prioritizing tasks as and when required.

Summary:
This position is dedicated to developing software tools for laboratory workflow processing and analysis of clinical genetic data and assists in the continuous improvement of the facility's Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Participates in implementation of code and system development
Participates in the gathering of software feature requirements through iterative review sessions with Lab Scientists
Participates in software qualification activities prior to rollout
Participates in the development of test cases
Provides complete deliverables in accordance with timelines
Works closely with Bioinformatics Scientist
Performs other duties as requested

Education/Experience (Minimum): BS in Computer Science or a related field and 2+ years experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Thorough coding knowledge of at least 2 of the following: C++, Java, Perl or python
Candidate must have experience in an object oriented programming language. C++ or Java preferred.
Candidate should have experience in a scripting language; either Perl or Python are of equivalent weight. • Some experience in large project design, implementation and delivery preferred.
