Job Role: Sharepoint Business Analyst

Location:NYC,NY

Duration: 2-3 years


Responsibilities

The SharePoint Business analyst will be called upon to perform the following:

                         Through provision of content and business analysis service, bolster the interface between OIST and UNDP Intranet users in SharePoint related questions. In particular, serve as content strategy focal point for the migration and re-structuring of existing data to SharePoint. Consult with individual COs on their needs and advise on applicable SharePoint features/concepts/solutions, including leveraging ISK maturity levels. Support OIST in ensuring the CO's compliance with UNDP Intranet standards and guidelines;

                         Serve as integration focal point between the Intranet Team and the GIA team to ensure that the Intranet Team's strategies and developments are effectively leveraged throughout UNDP. At the same point, feedback CO lessons learned and user trends, as well as other GIA related inputs such as bandwidth constraints etc. to the Intranet Team;

                        Oversee and guide a team of support Interns to manage, in collaboration with the business owners, the timely and complete migration of the existing content onto the new SharePoint platform. Analyze, assess and design/map a structure for the new content, and coordinate the migration of content;

                         Serves a critical role to drive the architect/design and implementation for cloud-based solutions. Drive the architecture/design and implementation to migrate exiting Intranet application to a cloud-based PaaS and SaaS product. Interact effectively with product manager to drive an optimized solution under known constraints. Mentor the team to adopt development and QA processes or best practices for cloud computing. Provide innovative idea or direction to Intranet products.

                         Serve as a focal point for ad hoc content, structural and information challenges for site-owners and end-users upon request within the assigned user populations (e.g. UNDP COs);

                         Contribute to training of UNDP Intranet site owners to administer and manage their respective content;

                         As time permits and as per the direction of the Chief, Application Support, OIST/BoM, provide hands-on and direct implementation support for Country Offices in SharePoint related challenges based on individually agreed project scope documents and on a cost recovery basis.

Areas of qualifications

Minimum requirements

Education

University degree in the area of Information Management, Communications, and/or any other relevant fields

Work experience

 

·         At least 5 years of experience covering developing websites with user-end approach, managing web contents and operating the websites, preferably in a UN context;

·         Proven ability to perform day to day coordination between two physically separated team

·         Knowledge and compliance of UNDP's communication standards and policies on the Intranet

·          Prior experience in using SharePoint 2010 to develop site structures, manage site permissions and advise on document management

·          Prior proven training experience in SharePoint

·          Detailed familiarity with UNDP's BoM units and/or work processes;

·          Prior experience with BoM units on SharePoint related questions an asset

·          Experience of synthesizing, quality assuring, editing and compiling relevant information for Intranet use

·          Effective communications skills to communicate effectively with staff at all levels of the organization

·          Good working knowledge of another official UN language (preferably French) will be an asset. Experience working with either Private or Public cloud environment will be a plus

·          Command excellent knowledge in website management tools such as SharePoint 2010, HTML, MS SharePoint Designer

·          Experience with current Knowledge Management technologies and UNDP content management systems

 

Language Requirements

·         Proficient in written and spoken English. Knowledge of another UN language would be asset
