Job Title: Websphere MQ Administration

Location: Mclean, VA

Duration: 6+ months Contract 

Interview: Phone

REQUIRED SKILLS:

Responsible for enterprise wide WebSphere MQ messaging infrastructure across distributed platforms including UNIX, WINDOWS and Mainframe.

Troubleshoot production problems, provide root cause analysis.

Build, configure and support MQ installations according to standards;  assist in patching, upgrades as needed.

Develop and support monitoring scripts to proactively find problems with MQ installations.

Work with operational and development staff to troubleshoot and resolve connectivity problems.

Work with support and development staff to research, document, and support legacy MQ installations with mainframe configurations.

Review test plans and proposed engineering solutions for adherence to standards, technical feasibility, and sound  MQ usage; prepare implementation plans & procedures for changes to middleware infrastructure and then implement as required.

Update infrastructure documentation as required.

Learn and support other middleware supported by team to include: weblogic, webmethods, apache and tomcat.

Participate in on-call rotation; weekend support as needed.

WebSphere MQ Administration experience (V6.2 & above) on Unix and Mainframe

Working knowledge with in product & Fixpack installations and version upgrades of WebSphere MQ

Able to administer the product using the command line 

Proficient in problem determination, troubleshooting, backup & recovery 

Working knowledge in using MQSC commands

Working knowledge in using Distributed Queue Management 

Working knowledge in MQ channel configuration using different transmission protocols

Working knowledge of MQ Clustering 

Able to manage, configure and monitor MQ Listeners, Command Servers, Channel initiators, Trigger Monitors, MQ Log files & Dead Letter Queues

Familiar with MQ Client applications & MQ client configuration

Able to setup security for WebSphere MQ queues & other objects for data access and for administration using role-based security

Working knowledge in using MQ monitoring tools
