We are looking for Cognos Developer with one of our direct client.

 

Location:             Columbus, OH

Duration:             12+ Months

Face to face interview

 

We prefer candidates with whom you already have experience, not Internet solicitations. Successful candidates will be self-starters and detail oriented. Candidates must be able to work both independently and as team members to produce on time results to meet all project deadlines.

 

Day-in-the-Life:

During a given day, this position will be expected to:

·               Developing complex Report Studio objects (e.g. Active Reports, complex conditional formatting, and complex hierarchical development within list frames) based upon report specifications.

·               Unit test developed reports and verify results against specifications.

·               Serve as a reporting expert as needed during user and systems testing.

·               Identify and document any inconsistencies between data model and report specifications.

·               Identify and document any software issues encountered.

·               Document functional specifications, technical specifications and unit testing requirements as assigned.

·               Use Cognos and Oracle software and tools to perform required tasks.

·               Perform knowledge transfer to client staff / consultants as required.

 

Required Skill Sets

·               5 or more years of experience with SQL programming against an Oracle RDBMS on data warehouse or business intelligence projects.

·               3 or more years of experience with business intelligence tools including IBM Cognos Suite.

·               3 or more years of experience with development and support using dimensional/star-schema based data structures including fact tables (commonly referred to as Kimball).

·               3 years or more experience designing and developing Cognos (version 8.2 and above) reports using Cognos Suite.

·               3 years or more experience designing and developing Cognos Framework Manager Model (version 8.2 and above).

·               2 years or more experience designing and developing Cognos Framework Manager Model and reports using Cognos Suite (version 10.1 and above).

 

Desired Skill Sets

·         Proficiency with Cognos 10.2

·         Software development experience with Oracle RDBMS 11g.

·         Experience with HTML and JavaScript, as used for Cognos reporting.

·         Experience writing design specifications, test scripts and other required documentation.

·         Experience developing queries against normalized as well as dimensional data structures.
