Fwd: {PBJFlorida} What Money Can't Buy

Oops.  Continued below . . .

Subject: Re: {PBJFlorida} What Money Can't Buy

Thanks for posting this Miguel.
What Sandel did not get a chance to detail in this interview is the impact of monetizing almost all  social and civic goods that used to be provided by our neighbors and friends.  This loss of community results in a myriad of social and psychological and well-being issues -- isolation,  loneliness, depression, anxiety and the health impacts associated.   ("...lives of quiet desperation."   -remember?)

This system of monetizing everything is not sustainable.  Not needing each other is a dangerous illusion.  When we run out of common goods and services to take away from people, monetize and sell back to them, the system collapses ...  What then?

We are all connected.  We need each other.  This is the reality.
