POSITION SUMMARY

Manage the technical architecture of the Sephora's digital platform in a Java EE and Oracle environment.  

Assume responsibility for all architectural decisions on Client's e-commerce systems. 

This hands-on position, reporting to the Director of Architecture will be responsible for the design and implementation of e-commerce system components in a scalable, high performance growing e-commerce platform.  The Sr. Architect will work together with the architects, engineering managers, business and product management teams within Client. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide technology leadership for design and development decisions related to Sephora's next-generation, global web platform 

• Assess, recommend, build and integrate with best-of-breed, off-the-shelf commercial and open-source software components 

• Help meet business needs with new innovations. Review and recommend technologies from global software providers, open source technologies and specialized product providers, for inclusion into the platform

• Work with key members of the Management team to define and drive technical strategy and architectural direction for the e-commerce platform

• Drive the design methodology of the software development process and ensure adoption within Sephora technology partners

• Assess feasibility and ramifications of new business requirements. Design appropriate solutions and recommend alternative approaches when necessary 

• Stay current on advancements in web technologies in order to determine relevance and possible impact to existing system

• Recommend engineering best practices, including use of design patterns, code reviews and automated unit testing

REQUIREMENTS 

• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or similar technical degree 

• Working experience with ATG commerce and related modules in a large scale environment

• Five plus years systems development experience working on a pre-eminent e-commerce website that has significant traffic.
