Job Title:     UI / UX Designer

 Job Description:

 

The candidate will work with the Office of Planning and Budgeton the creation and maintenance of its internal applications.


The selected candidate will work with a defined project team or stand-alone to create, maintain, build, deploy, diagnosis, design, develop and test errors and enhancements to OPB applications. The selected candidate must have expert knowledge in web base UI design and corresponding design tools, be able to work with a diverse project team, and work in a highly visible and changing project environment with aggressive timelines.


The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  1. Designing the user interface / navigation models for new or existing web applications including screen flows and screen layouts
  2. Ensuring usability and consistency in the design for one or multiple projects.
  3. Create storyboards, build prototypes, write specifications for developers to implement the user interface design.
  4. Developing and applying UI standards.
  5. Working with the back end development group to make the front end design understood and work as designed.
  6. Communicating with technical and non-technical staff to ensure acceptability in the product design and development process.
  7. Participate in the development of schedules by providing estimates regarding individual UI design tasks.
  8. Participate in projects from the inception phase through final testing and QA
  9. Create, Maintain, Debug, Build, and Deployment Process for OPB Applications using .Net.
  10. Assist in the building and migrating of software components to multiple staging environments.
  11. Work with software configuration tools such as SourceSafe and Team Foundation Server.
  12. Designing, developing, unit testing programming errors and enhancements assigned by the Technical Lead or stand alone.
  13. Ensure programming standards are adhered to throughout the project.
  14. Following a project schedule and assignments as assigned by the responsible Project Manager.
  15. Reporting status to the responsible Technical Lead verbally and in writing.
  16. Working as a dedicated team member and demonstrate the ability to clearly communicate with other team members.
  17. Demonstrated experience in a range of platforms, including Mobile

 

Required Skills:

  1. ASP.Net
  2. Javascript/JQuery
  3. Advanced UI programming skills and be capable of working either independently or within a team environment
  4. Strong background in web site layout, navigation and page design
  5. CSS 3
  6. HTML 5
  7. Visual Studio
  8. Experience with Expression Blend and Adobe Creative Suite(Illustrator, Photoshop, and Indesign)
