Position: Test Automation Architect

Location: King of Prussia, PA

Duration: 6 Months +

 

Description:

Defines, designs, and develops the automation strategy of existing and future frameworks.  Mentors and assists Test Developers.  The Test Architect strives to ensure that system requirements are satisfied for internal and external application users.

·         Participates in the requirements and design activities for all Product areas.

·         Develops Service Team wide Test Strategy to leverage Product Investment/maximize efficiency while providing comprehensive test coverage. 

·         Manages Test Environment Requirements.

·         Designs and/or contributes to the development of the automated test plans and project testing approach. 

·         Reviews the designs of the test approaches and provides test architectural feedback.

·         Ensures quality levels are maintained in all test inventories created within framework.

·         Understands and contributes to the process of test estimates and project schedules and suggests changes for efficiencies.

·         Manages the test developer staffing/utilization across Service teams.

·         Defines and governs adherence to the established automation standards and methodologies. 

·         Utilizes automation tools and methodologies to improve individual team effectiveness and to increase efficiencies in the QA process.

·         Ensures the automation frameworks provide the ability to meet target metrics for success factors/savings projected.

·         Ensures test tools align to automated test solutions.

·         Identifies gaps in automated test tools solutions and drives the evaluation and Test Tool Recommendation report.

·         Performs analysis and makes recommendations regarding tool usage and selection.

·         Works closely with development and product engineering teams.

·         Design and implements automation frameworks.

·         Develops automated smoke, functional, and regression test suites for Partner  solutions.

·         Provides guidance to the Test Developers.

·         Participates in the interview and selection process.

·         Proactively escalates issues to Management and alerts the team on potential impact to test schedule.

·         Develops and sustains appropriate relationship with peers and other team members.

 

Job Requirements

·         Strong leadership capabilities, good judgment and the ability to work effectively with a diverse workforce.

·         Strong analytical, problem solving and planning ability.  Detailed oriented..

·         Ability to multi-task to accomplish workload efficiently. Excellent time management.

·         Good work ethic and general business acumen.

·         Excellent working knowledge of automation testing concepts, verification and validation techniques, defect management, quantitative methods, risk management and measurement programs.

·         Understanding of relational database principles, client/server infrastructure, and n-tier architecture concepts.

·         2 or more years of experience working with spring MVC.

·         Knowledge of Sybase, Oracle, Web and Middle tier testing.

·         5 or more years of application development experience, preferably with .Net, ASP, Java, C, C++, PL/SQL.

·         5 or more years of source code control experience.

·         Ability to work on most phases of fairly complex application assignments, with solid understanding of project lifecycles.

·         B.S. in computer science, computer engineering, math, or related engineering fields and/or equivalent work experience.

·         5 or more years of experience in automation framework design and development

·         5 or more years of experience in QA/testing large scale web applications.

·         5 or more years experience in designing and implementing automation framework (front end and backend) for large scale web applications.

·         Excellent knowledge of Linux, server technologies, and database (Oracle, My SQL).

·         5 or more years experience in the following tools sets: (Selenium, JUnit, Cactus, HtmlUnit, JIRA, XML/SOAP)

·         Experienced in configuring and setting up servers with Linux applications, open source applications, databases, web servers, JMS servers.

·         Ability to work independently with little direction in a team oriented, results-driven environment.

·         Experience in an Agile/SCRUM development environment highly desired.

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and good team player skills.

 

Beneficial / Optional Requirements:

  • Certifications in related field; as an example Certified Software Testing Engineer (CSTE) designation or other more technical certification aligned to automation framework development.
  • Experience in building automated solution in support of International platforms.
  • Risk Management.  Statistical Analysis.  Quality Assurance and Quality Control practices.
  • Knowledge of GSI business functions.
  • Understanding of project management methodologies.
