Java Developer

Location : Center city Philadelphia

Duration: 3 + months

 

Skills required :  (generally in order of importance)

  • strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • strong analytical skills
  • able to identify and write unit-test scripts using input from business requirements, functional requirements
  • proactive nature to go get questions answered from developers and business as questions arrise  (without hesitation)
  • detail oriented - the individuals will need to write, run and document results of unit-tests; any failures need to have corrective actions coordinated with the development team
  • need mid-level understanding of java so to be able to diagnose issues resulting in unit-testing and provide detail to developers to speed up the corrective action process

More about the New Dedicated ISD LH Unit-Testing Team

 

Purpose :

A set of dedicated developers to focus efforts on all unit-testing to ensure transparent delivery of functionality to all teams: business, development and testing.  With the goal to get ahead of unit-testing issues before they arrive at QA the team members coordinate with all teams to resolve assumptions and discrepancies in functionality.

 

Expectations :

·         Dedicated and on-shore for immediate access to business and management to resolve questions identified during unit-test script creation and/or unit-testing questions/issues requiring answers

·         Unit-Testing – Scripts:

Will create unit-test scripts based on functionality using business requirements along with functional requirements

Will review unit-test scripts with development, business and testing (FT) to ensure a thorough testing of functionality to be delivered and add additional unit-testing identified, including regression notations, from teams as they are identified

*Note:  Is not expected to complete thorough regression testing; however, should attempt to create positive and negative testing along with as comprehensive unit-testing identified

·         Unit-Testing – Run/Document:

Will contact business and management to resolve questions identified during unit-test script creation and/or unit-testing questions/issues requiring answers

All unit-test outcome discrepancies will be reviewed and resolved

Documented unit-test result will be provided onto a shared and secure location for later audit if needed

·         QA Deploy:

Will provide rolling release notes of an QA environment code deploy which includes the new functionality added to QA as part of the QA release, QC tickets resolved as part of the QA release and a list of all functionality in QA (not in production yet) which were release to QA as part of previous QA releases

·         Assumptions:

Will identify developed solution assumptions, verify assumptions with business for final resolutions, and document agreed development direction back to the business, developers and testing to ensure consistent delivery understanding

Recommendation is that these verified or corrected assumptions be documented into the business and functional requirements or documented as part of QA environment code deploy functionality items

·         Production:

Will provide production release notes which includes all new deployed functionality by application
