Skills Needed:

Candidate will manage database systems, including database administration and maintenance. The candidate must provide the necessary security of the data while ensuring reliability and responsiveness. The candidate will serve as the chief contact for agency database related issues. Candidate must be very familiar with the database upgrade from Oracle 11.1g to Oracle11.2G. The person must be OCP Certified with expertise in performance tuning,

The candidate must have at least 7-8 years of Oracle production and application experience. The selected candidate must have extensive experience in installing and configuring databases.

 

The selected candidate must perform the following tasks:

• Create, monitor and optimize database performance utilizing advances performance tuning skills.

• Provide on call support which can require analysis and trouble shooting of complex problems

• Evaluate and research new database features, version and technologies

 

Skill/Education Needed

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or business or equivalent work experience.

• 8+ years database administration experience

• Outstanding communication and troubleshooting skills

• Strong skills in Oracle 11G, Toad/.SQL Developer, Oracle Enterprise Manager, Microsoft Office Tools

• Must be knowledgeable and experienced in common methods used for performance tuning on Oracle server databases along with protocols for pro-actively monitoring the health of Oracle database servers.
