Sr.Cognos BI Developer

Work Location: Mentor, OH

Job Description

• At least 8 years+ of fundamental experience in Business Intelligence, ideally within a manufacturing industry
  
• Expert knowledge of Cognos BI (version 10.2) and analytics, and Data Integration tools (Informatica) & languages (ETL/SQL) 
  
• Develop Business Intelligence Reports and Dashboards using the Cognos Suite v10.2.x
  
• Understand the business concepts behind the reporting specifications, especially in a manufacturing environment
  
• Functional Design experience in Dashboards and Reports . Experience on collecting and analyzing data to produce Business Intelligence dashboards and reports related to the various functions of the business (Finance, Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain and Operations)
  
• Produce technical design documentation including logical data models and detailed reporting specifications consistent with the reporting requirements. 
  
• Framework Manager modeling and Report Studio authoring including MDX
  
• Strong SQL and Data Modeling skills 
  
• Knowledge of structured data, such as entities, classes, hierarchies, relationships and metadata.
  
• Knowledge of database management system (DBMS) physical implementation, including tables, joins and SQL querying.
  
• Ability to combine data from multiple sources when needed for the analysis.
  
• Familiarity with the use cases, business purposes and quality of the data.
  
• Excellent Communication and interpersonal skills. Fluent English will be essential and any other EU language would be beneficial
  
• Ability to understand and analyze the existing business processes and environment along with the user requirements. Excellent ability to liaise with business owners, influence and guide them.
