Description:
Security Engineer will provide expert support, analysis and research into complex problems and processes relating to deployed firewall equipment. Will serve as the technical expert on executive-level project teams within the customer providing technical direction, interpretation, and alternatives. This is a highly technical, hands-on role and will be required to develop and maintain an expertise on the products and solutions deployed within the Customer's network.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze logs and events from the solution and provide threat analysis reports.
- Build custom security policies and application signatures.
- Interact with TAC to troubleshoot and diagnose cases.
- Mitigate web-based threats in a timely manner.
- Maintain the solution and provide guidance on code upgrades, etc.
Requirements:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Minimum 5 years' experience with IDS/IPS solutions and technologies.
- Minimum 3 years' experience managing security solutions in large environments.
- Extensive knowledge of different security threats.
- Strong understanding of core Internet protocols and applications.
- Detailed technical experience in the installation, configuration and operation of high-end firewall appliances specifically PA-7050 (experience on PA-3000 and/or PA-5000 Series in lieu of 7050)
- PAN-OS CLI highly desired
- Strong Panorama experience preferred
- Strong TCP/IP networking skills.
- Background in internetworking, LAN, and WAN technologies required.
Remarks:
recently purchased 6 x 7050's for the DMZ and IMS projects. These platforms will need to installed, integrated and deployed into the respective networks. USCC has everything from PA200 to the PA7050. We are deployed throughout the customer facing network on the mobility side. Although the primary task will be the installation of the 7050's the resource will expected to assist with other projects as needed.
Describe the Ideal candidate's strengths and experiences:
1) Expert level relationship management, communications skills and interpersonal skills to manage face to face communications on a daily basis with multiple levels of customer management and engineering staff across multiple departments within the host company in a responsible and professional fashion.
2) Expert level troubleshooting methodology to isolate and identify configuration, design, and software anomalies; ability to clearly articulate findings in written and verbal communications with development level engineering staff.
3) Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and work calmly under pressure.
