Job Title: Disaster Recovery Analyst
Location: Milwaukee, WI
Duration: 6 months Contract
Rate: $30/hr On C2C
VISA: H1B, Green Card, W2, or EAD
Required Skills:
Harley has a new need at their Juneau facility for a Disaster Recovery Analyst. Some weekend work will be required (3-4 Saturdays throughout the year) to support testing.
Responsible for coordinating the development of advance arrangements and procedures to ensure the organization can respond to a disaster. This helps ensure that critical IT systems and business functions can be resumed within defined time frames, the loss can be minimized, and any stricken facilities can be repaired or replaced as quickly as possible. This responsibility includes coordinating the development, maintenance, and exercising (testing) of the overall Disaster Recovery plans for critical systems and functional areas of the organization. The candidate will also be responsible for participating in any actual disaster recovery effort.
Responsible for planning and coordination of Disaster Recovery exercises. Assures that recovery procedures are effective for the restoration of IT systems and for the resumption of critical business processes. Some of these exercises will require the candidate to work evenings and weekends.
Assists in the development of and providesguidance for disaster recovery plan development, plan templates, and expertise on the current disaster recovery strategies and processes.
Assists in the establishment and continuous improvement of disaster recovery strategies, standards, and functional processes and procedures related to, but not limited to, disaster recovery plans, disaster recovery exercises, project support methodologies, and 3rd party supplier reviews.
Assists recovery support teams and business resumption staff with the implementation of response and alternate operating strategiesduring a disaster.
Works with management to ensure thatnew equipment, facilities, services, and systems meet disaster recovery requirements.
Assists in the performance of risk analyses for corporate functional areas to identify points of vulnerability, and recommends disaster avoidance and reduction strategies.
Analyzes environmental and equipment configurations for critical corporate resources. Periodically reviews changes in corporate resources with the management of those areas to ensure the effectiveness of the recovery procedures and backup capabilities.
Assists in the performance of Business Impact Analyses and assists company units to determine critical business processes, identify acceptable recovery time periods, and establish resources required for the successful resumption of business operations in the event of a disaster. Assures records required for recovery are identified and properly maintained.
Working knowledge of data processing to assist in the preparation of recovery procedures
Some experience in Disaster Recovery or Business Continuity plan development and testing or the ability and willingness to develop a clear understanding of Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity concepts
Extensive background in MS Office Suite
Experience and Education
3-5 years of IT experience
1-3 years of Disaster Recovery or Business Continuity experience
4 year degree
