Position :Web Systems Engineer (aka Platform Engineer)

Location ; SF,CA

Rate : OPEN

 

Responsibilities:

ü  Implements the resolution of complex technical problems involving creation of Web based applications and their integration into the bank's existing computing environment

ü  Upgrades and maintains systems that employ scalable, advanced technologies to integrate web-based systems with existing systems, enabling the creation of new web enterprises or expanding existing business onto the Internet

ü  Develops and implements systems support infrastructure for web-based applications

ü  Monitors and gathers performance statistics to assist in determining hardware requirements and network bandwidth to support projected transaction volumes, application response time, and system availability targets

ü  Implements new hardware and software

ü  May provide guidance to less experienced staff

ü  Participate in a 24x7 on-call support rotation and off-hours maintenance windows

ü  Provides senior-level technical support to Web Developers

Minimum Qualifications:

ü  Must have programming experience in Perl (Object-Oriented Perl preferred) or other languages (eg, C/C++ or Java)

ü  Experience with F5 Network LTM and GTM network load balancing (preferred) or similar product

ü  Experience with configuration and deployment of Apache Web Server

ü  Experience with configuration and deployment of Apache Tomcat (preferred) or similar application server

ü  Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking configuration as well as troubleshooting as part of run-time application support

ü  Experience with Nagios monitoring tool

ü  Experience with source code management tools (Subversion or git preferred)

ü  Experience with the full Systems Life Cycle (eg, analysis/design, development, testing, implementation, troubleshooting/support).

Preferred Skills:

ü  Working knowledge of system administration for either Oracle RAC or Veritas Cluster Server

ü  Working knowledge of DevOps (Puppet preferred)

ü  Experience configuring Storage Array Networks

ü  Experience with Connect::Direct (aka NDM)

ü  Working knowledge of directory authentication/authorization (LDAP) and Vintela Authentication Service (VAS) or BoKS (FoxT Server Control, fka. Legitimacy and Control System)

ü  Experience with configuration and management of SMTP, SSH, SSL

Experience administering Linux (preferred) or Solaris operating system
