Job Description: BO Developer
Location: Washington, DC
Duration: 6 Months
Job Description:
· Working with SAP Business Objects (XI 3.1/4.0) to create Universes and develop Reports against different databases.
· Extensively designed Universes using the SAP Business Objects XI 3.1 Universe designer and SAP Business Objects 4.0 Information design tool (IDT).
· Extensively developed WebI reports using Infoview, Launch Pad and WebI Rich client.
· Provided support to end users to ensure clarity about the reports.
· Provided design solutions for Universes based on the Business requirements.
· Performed documentation tasks w.r.t report specifications, test cases and Business requirement documents.
· Performed Analysis and fine tuning of SQL, Universes and WebI reports.
· Involved in various Conversion and Migration projects within different environments with the use of SAP Business Objects Report Conversion tool and Import Wizard
· As the Business Objects specialist in a project team, performs complex professional and advisory functions.
· Defines database usage concepts, selects records, organizes data and formats reports, exports (distributes) reports, builds, applies and removes report templates.
· Creates complex reports requiring multiple parameters, summarizing data with crosstabs, using sections and section underlay for groups, and related report functions, builds specialized reports utilizing hyperlinks, dynamic graphic locations and experts.
· As part of a central Business Objects team, creates reporting architecture and frameworks;
· Participates in the design and development of various aspects of Business Objects Universes
· Adds to and changes objects in the Repository, analyzes the Business Objects Enterprise security model and creates security content such as users, groups and categories.
· Follow SLA guidelines and other defined processes like quality assurance process etc.
· Handle performance related issues
REQUIRED:
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, a Master's degree preferred.
· Minimum 5 years of hands on experience with Business Objects Universe/Report/Dashboard Development
· 4 to 6 years of experience working with databases like Oracle/SQL Server.
· Demonstrate strong skills in customer satisfaction.
· Solid team player with demonstrated successes in a group environment and ability to lead technical projects in addition to being a technical resource.
· Very good experience with all modules within Business Objects.
· Good knowledge on relational databases.
· Understanding of Data Warehousing concepts and methodologies.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
