Position: Lead Devops Engineer
Location: Philadelphia, PA
Duration: Long term contract
Job Description:
In this role you will collaborate with other developers, designers, testers, product teams, and business and operations Ratemanagers to prepare, maintain and support the Operational Readiness for all client applications. The primary responsibilities include to lead the mobile operations team responsible for the operational readiness of web and mobile client applications
The team is responsible for identifying, building and maintaining operational metrics, dashboards and reporting; developing and maintaining technical documentation for operations and support teams; conducting operational readiness exercises; engaging and leading discussions with cross functional development and support teams; working with the engineering team to understand changes in the applications and assessing their impact on production operations; preparing and delivering presentations on operational matters related to the products to peers and Executive staff.
The candidate will have responsibility to manage relationship with the software development teams and ensure that the client applications and web experiences are delivered according to the operational playbook.
The ideal candidate will have experience in both technical and programmatic roles along with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Requirements:
· More than 10 years of systems/software engineering or Operations experience in a software development or engineering environment
· Experience in leading a team of software development and operations analysts- Required
· Experience in Continuous Integration tools like Jenkins, Hudson, Bamboo (Any of these)- Required
· Experience in Build tools like Ant, Maven etc. - Required
· Experience in Mobility/Mobile Apps- Required
· Experience in data analysis, reporting and dashboard generation
· Experience with data analytics tools such as Splunk, Hadoop, Tableau etc. (Any of these or similar tool)
· Ability to engage cross-functional product and development team and lead discussions and contribute to production investigations and triage sessions
· Excellent understanding of solution architecture, development processes, and current technologies
· Experience with the agile development process and methodologies such as test-driven development and continuous integration
· Experience writing and maintaining technical documentation
· Experience supporting multiple technical projects simultaneously
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Additional preferred skills:
· Experience in scripting and/or software development
· Experience in creating and maintaining system architecture diagrams (Rationale, OmniGraffle, System Architect, etc)
· Experience working with web and/or mobile software development, QA and operations teams
