JAVA DEVELOPER – Full Time

Location: Plymouth, MI

Duration: FULL time

Description:

Advaita is a privately-held company specializing in bioinformatics.

 We have two multi-year federal grants exceeding more than $4M to develop advanced software for the analysis of high-throughput microarray and next-gen sequencing data.

We are looking for hard-working Java application developers to join our development team near Ann Arbor, MI.

Candidates should be self-motivated and able to work independently.

.The main responsibilities will include development and integration of novel data analysis methods in existing applications, data storage and access tasks, user interface improvements, as well as user account Management.

Requirements:

Ideal candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in computer science (Master's

preferred) or equivalent with at least 3 years Java development experience - must be

proficient in Java SE (Java 6 or higher.) Selected applicants will be required to satisfactorily complete a Java programming evaluation test.

Additional desired skills include:

Java script, Java Query, Java Web Start, Maven, user interface development using Swing and image manipulation using Java, Java database

programming (JDBC), web development (restful API), parsing (regular expressions, etc.) and serialization (XML, binary, etc.) experience.

Knowledge of R and Bioconductor and/or previous bioinformatics experience a plus, but not necessary. 

Background in

biology also a plus.
