Title: Java/Linux operating Systems consultant
Location: Grand Rapids, MI
Duration: 6+ months

Job description:

• Looking for a multi-talented individual, responsible for working with cross-functional teams to maintain detailed knowledge of upcoming releases and integrating incoming code changes into them. 
• This individual will make informed and appropriate recommendations to engineering managers and project managers regarding integration policy, project branching and versioning, and merge conflict resolution. 
• The individual will also be expected to make changes/enhancements to various shell scripts as well as build Java integrations between systems.
• Among other tasks, this individual will also advise teams how to convert their projects from ant to maven and manage a nexus repository. This individual will be looked to to bring a Devops philosophy to this growing company.
• Expertise with the Linux operating system. 
• Knowledge of Source Control Management processes as well as build and deployment tools (Preferably Maven, Ant, Jenkins, Bamboo) 
• Knowledge of the Atlassian tools suite (JIRA, Confluence, Stash...) 
• Knowledge of software version control and source code management tools such as GIT and SVN 
• Expert scripting experience in Shell 
• Basic ability to interpret Java Stack Traces. 
• About three or more years of Java Development experience. 
• Knowledge of Internet/Web related protocols and technologies, 
• including: 
• Apache, Tomcat, Web Services, DNS, registrars, SSL, web hosting providers 
• A Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science preferred 
• Excellent communication
