PHP Developer with Laravel experience

Duration: 2 months

Location: Midtown NY

DB2 DBA

Location: Fort Wayne, IN

Position Type: 4+ month's contract

Rate: $45/hr on C2C

 

Responsibilities:

• Maintain assigned DB2 database systems and software. This includes all administrative programs, system alerts, scheduled tasks, and any miscellaneous utilities used by the system
  
• Define, document and conduct DBA tasks to include: 
  
• Database software installation
  
• Database implementation and planning
  
• Create and Open databases
  
• Backup Databases and Establish backup strategies
  
• Manage database users
  
• Database Design
  
• Database Performance & Tuning
  
• Database Access & Security
  
• Database license compliance auditing and reporting
  
• Database ad-hoc reporting
  
• HADR Configuration
  
• Consult with various internal and external business units and partners on data modeling and DB2 database design 
  
• Data Interface Protocols
  
• Managing Data Integrity
  
• Managing Data Security
  
• Tuning SQL for efficiency
  
• Mentor co-workers to improve their database skills and proficiency
  
• Recognize and suggest opportunities for improvement in all aspects of the job
  
• Will require occasional after-hours work and after-hours on-call duties

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

• 4+ years total of experience with the following skill sets…
  
• DB2 database administration experience required
  
• UNIX/Linux system administration experience required
  
• Large database management experience required
  
• SQL query tuning, tracing and resolving performance issues required
  
• IBM NetCool database (TCR, TDW, ITNM, TNPM) experience preferred
  
• Other database experience (Oracle, MySQL, PostgresSQL, H2, Derby) helpful
  
• Must be detail oriented and self-managing
  
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
  
• Bachelor Degree with an emphasis in Information Systems or Computer Science required
