Application Tester
Location: Watsonville, CA
Length: 6-12 months
Start: ASAP
Rate: 45/HR all inclusive
JOB SUMMARY: The purpose of this position is to contribute to the Information Services team in assuring exceptional application quality, customer service and supportability. This position will be responsible for working with the PMO, Application Development Team, Production Services and clients to test and implement custom and off-the-shelf solutions. This position will also provide short-term post go-live support and training for clients of both custom developed and third-party applications.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in related field of study and 3-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
- Must be familiar with software development lifecycle, standard concepts, practices, and procedures for developing and testing business applications in a complex and dynamic operations environment.
- Knowledge of operating systems, Microsoft Office, Microsoft SharePoint, web-based applications, handheld RF devices and remote connectivity software a plus. Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics and previous experience in testing for ERP implementation a plus.
- Demonstrated strong verbal, written and presentation skills required.
- Self-starter. Works independently with minimal supervision.
- Requires the ability to manage multiple projects.
- Travel and after-hours support required. California driver's license and the ability to be covered under company-sponsored vehicle insurance program are also required.
- A valid passport and the ability to travel internationally without restrictions are also required.
- Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills required a plus.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Testing: Analyze business requirements to create test plans/cases for testing of applications in development/stage environments.
User Acceptance/Training: Coordinate User Acceptance sessions (and test cases as needed) to ensure business objectives were met. Coordinate training and short-term post go-live support where needed.
Deployment Support: Assist with deployment of applications to production environment by providing support documentation, knowledge transfers to support department, coordinating/guiding user acceptance testing sessions and providing short-term post go-live support partnership with Production Services.
Documentation: Create and update support documents.Provide input into WIKI and knowledge base programs. Write end-user documentation.
Follow Company policies and practices while representing client in an ethical and business-like manner in all interactions with employees, governmental agencies, growers, customers, etc.
Ensure the security of client confidential and proprietary information and materials
