Title: BigData/ Hadoop Architect

Location : Dallas TX

Duration : 6+ Months/ Contract

Mode: Skype and Phone

 

Skills:

1) Solid understanding of relational databases. Potentially 8+ years of experience with RDMBS.

2) Expert level knowledge of Big data related technologies such as Hadoop, Distributed computing etc. Potentially, 3+ years of experience.

3) Excellent verbal & written communication skills. Ability to create good presentations, draw ideas on white boards.

4) Good understanding of OLAP concepts such as Star Schemas, Cubes etc.

5) Must have completed at least one project from concept to completion (production deployment).

 

Responsibilities: 

At present, our client knows where the data is going to come from (Oracle & Teradata) & what the output should be (Tableau reports). What they themselves don't know is how to get from source to the end state. This person needs to assist the client with how to get from source(Oracle and Teradata) to the desired output by working with their Architects & drive this effort on behalf of our client. This would require a lot of research, discussing ideas with users & coming up with design of the ETL pipelines etc. This person may not do actual development.
