Yes, I read it this morning too. I hate to say that Hedges says many things that have been on my mind too--the natural world that we know and love is under attack and the people in power either don't believe it or don't care.
I try to counter their power with petitions and donations to various groups. I also walk and pray! Now I'm feeling cynical and afraid. If the Republicans win and they eliminate the few remaining protections for the planet, then what?
The first peace, which is the most important, is that which comes within the souls of people when they realize their relationship, their oneness with the universe and all its powers, and when they realize that at the center of the universe dwells the Great Spirit, and that this center is really everywhere, it is within each of us.
