Job Title: COBOL Programmer/Analyst
Duration: 6 Months

Position Functions or Responsibilities:
The Project includes replacing the Virtual Storage Access Method (VSAM) database structures with IBM's relational database structure (DB2), modifying the existing code to accommodate the new data structures, upgrading the development and testing tools so that the new System can be supported efficiently into the future, reducing the complexity of rates functionality and improving processing, and updating the CICS staff user interface without a complete redesign (e.g., use tool to transform screens to accessible web pages and incorporate more intuitive menus and dropdown selection) to reduce training costs and improve customer service representative productivity.
The COBOL Programmer/Analyst will be responsible for testing and correcting defects with COBOL code. Will be responsible for executing and participating in all stages of testing code. Will be responsible for developing approved Business Requirements. May be required to develop and execute test plans, test cases and test scripts.
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 year's work experience maintaining and enhancing COBOL/DB2
Minimum of 5 year's work experience with VSAM/CICS
Minimum of 2 year's work experience developing and executing test plans, test cases and test scripts
Minimum of 2 year's work experience with Unit, System, Performance, Regression and Acceptance testing in a COBOL/DB2
Desired Skills:
- Additional experience with Natural/Construct will be given preference over other candidates
- Experience with testing projects in government
- Experience in Unemployment Insurance
- System Modernization / Transformation experience
- Team Player
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
