Sr .Net Engineer

Location: Newton, MA

3 Months contract to Hire

                    

OVERVIEW

As part of the Software Engineering team, the Senior Software Engineer will engineer web, mobile, and/or desktop based software based on project specifications and assist with the technical architecture of new projects. The role must satisfy internal and external customers through excellent customer service, be a peer leader and mentor, and build project transparency between Research, User Experience, QA, and Engineering teams.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES including the following:  Other duties may be assigned.

• Develop innovative solutions in a product development environment
• Create reusable code libraries and reusable web and user controls
• Incorporate Agile methodology with Scrum management and full SDLC exposure
• Handle complex integration and data migration projects
• Consult with clients (internal and external) and turn verbal communications into technical documents and satisfactory deliverables
• Create accurate estimates of time and effort
• Work on multiple projects simultaneously with little oversight
• Work well on cross-functional team(s)

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:

• Strong role model for others on the team

·         Ability to think logically, creatively, and outside the box

·         Ability to multi-task and complete tasks on time

• Understanding of secure coding and vulnerability prevention is a plus

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor of Science, Engineering, or similar degree
• Significant experience with .NET 2.0/3.5/4.0+ and Visual Studio (C# preferred)
• Versatility in both front and back-end coding
• Solid understanding of WCF and/or web services
• Familiarity with LINQ and/or Entity Framework
• Exposure to MVC .NET is strongly preferred
• Strong HTML/CSS experience along with JQuery and/or other AJAX technologies
• Strong SQL Server 2008 and/or 2012 experience - designing relational databases and writing stored procedures
• Experience with Reporting Services is a plus
• Experience with HTML5 is a plus
• Experience with Windows Workflow Foundation is a plus
• Experience with SharePoint is a plus
• Experience with mobile development is a plus
