Oracle HR PeopleSoft Applications

Location:  Des Moines, Iowa

Duration: 6 Months Contract

 

Minimum of 5 years working with Peoplesoft

Project: Peoplesoft Upgrade

 

Responsibilities
This role will primarily be focused with administering and supporting Oracle PeopleSoft Applications for HR
(PeopleSoft 9.X).

 

Duties
Primary support resource for Peoplesoft HR applications
Technical upgrade of PeopleSoft HR environment
Coordination of technical tasks with project team
Set-up and monitor notifications for environments
Ad-hoc environment restores/refreshes
Build new environments, as required
Quarterly UNIX maintenance (coordination)
Quarterly middle tier (Java, Tuxedo, Weblogic, Peopletools, etc) maintenance
Quarterly application releases/migrations
Oracle Security Advisories (review and communicate impacts to Security team)
Work closely with the business community and IT peers in a fast-paced environment while coordinating priorities
in an effective and efficient manner.
Work with customer community to build maintenance timelines; meet timeline commitments
Participate in on-call rotation

Must Have

·         Be able to speak technically with other team members and developers to communicate
responsibilities, as well as help brainstorm technical designs/solutions.

·         Able to work directly with developers, business partners, business analysts, and quality assurance team members to
consult on solutions, aide with requirements, and ensure test coverage.

·         Able to effectively communicate with the vendor regarding product issues and product enhancements.

 

Technical Experience:
- Must have PeopleSoft administration experience
- PeopleSoft implementation and upgrade experience preferred
- Desirable to have HRMS/HCM Functional experience including HR, Payroll and Benefits
- Strong understanding of technologies and how various infrastructure tiers work together
- Knowledge of web, batch and application servers required

Other critical technical experience/skills for this role will include:
- Unix / Linux
- Weblogic, Tuxedo
- Relational Database knowledge (DB2 z/OS and Oracle experience preferred)
- Networking experience
- VMware/SAN experience
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Desire to learn new infrastructures (Fusion, Hyperion, etc)

Non-Technical Skills:
- Coordinate between offshore and onsite resources
- Strong communication skills
- Demonstrate strong collaboration across all disciplines
- Takes initiative and ownership on issues
- Demonstrates effective analytical, organizational and problem solving skills
- Provide innovative solutions for business and team needs
- Demonstrates a passion for learning new technologies and vendor applications
- Vendor management
- Strong presentation skills
