Position Business Intelligence Analyst: [Cognos|SSRS|SSAS|OLAP|SQL Queries]
Duration:6 months+ could go as long as 12 months
Location :SF, CA
Rate:DOE

Responsibilities:
ü Work with business users to identify and prioritize their business requirements.
ü Assess the best way to apply and leverage new BI technology and help the business to develop the necessary processes to fulfill the business requirements.
ü Prepare scope definition and document business rules.
ü Work with BI engineers to ensure development work is completed to the defined business specifications.
ü Develop test plans/testing documentation, drive User Acceptance Testing, and work with the business users to validate sign-off criteria.
ü Coordinate the development and maintenance of complex reports with end users within Cognos and SSRS and supporting technologies.
ü Serve as primary support contact for end users and liaise with business department stakeholders on complex reporting projects.
ü Extract, analyze, identify, and solve complex issues with data available in reporting environments in support of business decision-making reporting efforts.
ü Coordinate the creation of new, and audit existing systems support components to ensure data availability for effective reporting and analysis.
Skills:
ü 10+ years in planning, design, implementation, and User Acceptance Testing of business applications including data warehouse and business intelligence.
ü Experience in business requirements gathering, creating functional and technical specifications.
ü Experience in conducting interviews and JAD sessions.
ü Project and Program Management.
ü Experience in Change Management.
ü Excellent understanding of dimensional modeling and data warehouse concepts.
ü Ability to interface with users and data architects in order to translate user requirements into data requirements.
ü Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact well with all levels, including the executive level.
ü Ability to quickly and positively adapt to change.
ü Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical or business discipline.
Experience(8 years relevant experience):
ü Cognos Framework model design and security.
ü Cognos Report Studio design and development.
ü Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services and Analysis Services.
ü Design, development, security, testing, implementation, and support of BI Tool Set.
ü Use of OLAP and data warehouse concepts.
ü Application of Advanced SQL query, scripting, and data management skills.
ü Troubleshooting and client support environment experience.
Knowledge, Skill, Abilities:
ü Excellent understanding of dimensional modeling and data warehouse concepts.
ü Ability to write complex SQL Server stored procedure.
ü Ability to interface with users and data architects in order to translate user requirements into data requirements.
ü Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact well with all levels, including the executive level.
ü Ability to manage expectations and deliver quality solutions that are both complete and on-time.
ü Ability to quickly and positively adapt to change.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
