Role: Data Analyst/SAS Data Analyst/SAS DI developer/SAS Visual Analytics/Hadoop developer

POSITION 1

 

Job title: Data Analyst

Work Location: Chicago, IL

No of positions: 8

Experience – 4 to 8 years


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·        Strong knowledge of SQL/T-SQL
·        Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports
·        Develop and implement data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality
·        Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems
·        Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
·        Filter and "clean" data, and review computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems
·        Work closely with management to prioritize business and information needs
·        Profile and understand large amounts of source data available, including structured, semi-structured or web activity data
·        Work with data originators to fill in gaps in the data collected, and/or to adjust source-system data structures to facilitate analysis and integration with other company data.
·        Ability to develop/troubleshoot/enhance complex Stored Procedures for data loadings/transformation.
·        Strong Working knowledge of other enterprise reporting tools
·        Regular and periodic maintenance/upgrade of data warehouse SQL server, BI tools like Datastage or SSIS / SSRS.
·        Be the primary POC for all technical issues related to the Data warehouse solutions/Platform. Learn and support new tools on the job.
·        Works with business leaders to develop detailed business requirements, creating functional design, gap analysis, technical design, and traceability matrices.
·        Data management (Data flow, Data profiling, Definition/Meta data, Master Data Management, Reference Data, Data Quality, Data Lineage, Data Transformation, Modeling, Analysis, Reporting - All are not required)
·        Perform other related duties as required.


·        Nice to have - Knowledge and experience on statistical packages for analysing large datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS etc)


Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

·        Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
·        Proven working experience as a data analyst
·        Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook)
·        Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
·        Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
·        Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques
·        Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects etc), databases (SQL etc), programming (XML, Javascript, or ETL frameworks)
·        Associate degree preferred

Job title: Sr. Data Analyst

 

Work Location: NY/NJ

Experience – 6 to 8 years

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·        Base SAS and SAS Data Management
·        SAS DataFlux/Analytics and SQL
·        Strong business analysis skills
·        Data management (Data flow, Data profiling, Definition/Meta data, Master Data Management, Reference Data, Data Quality, Data Lineage, Data Transformation, Modeling, Analysis, Reporting - All are not required)
·        Data warehouse into SAS environment
·        Query on data sets in SAS to execute reports.
·        Data lineage (for all data elements)
·        End user interaction to understand currently applied business logics
·        Documentation (either in Office or directly into Collibra) of data information and meta-data where applicable
·        Engaging with IT to verify source to target mapping (e.g. if data element is sourced from DW, then where does DW get that data?)


Nice to have - Exposure on newer Hadoop based technologies like Hive, Map Reduce, Pig


Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

·        Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
·        Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook)

POSITION 4

 

Job title: SAS DI Developer / Analyst

Work Location: NY/NJ

Experience – 4 to 8 years on SAS Data Integration Studio Experience


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·        Demonstrated ability to perform as SAS developer using SAS Data Integration Studio.
·        Experience in extracting, transforming and loading source data into the SAS environment from multiple sources including major DBMS and application system transaction files, third-party software packages, and spreadsheet applications.
·        Understanding of ER and Dimensional Models. • Experience working with Version Control (SVN, CVS, PVCS).
·        Experience working with a Scheduling Tool.
·        Strong familiarity with Teradata development and execution environments, and state-of-the- industry reporting and data management tools.
·        Knowledgeable and experienced in implementing and optimizing Windows-based SAS products within existing infrastructures.
·        Ability to effectively communicate with various stakeholders: technical and end-user, staff and management.
·        Ability to work independently.
·        Experience of 4-8 years, preferably


Nice to have - Exposure on newer Hadoop based technologies like Hive, Map Reduce, Pig

Job title: SAS VA Developer / Analyst

Work Location: NY/NJ

Experience – 4 to 8 years on SAS platform and VA solution


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·        Knowledge of SAS VA (Visual Analytics) Server Administration
·        Experience of working with large banks or Financial Institutions
·        Experience in designing SAS VA reports using VA Data builder, VA Explorer, VA Designer, VA Viewer and creating custom reports in SAS V
·        Strong Architecture knowledge of SAS Platform and solutions
·        Done integration of SAS platform with third party tools
·        Should have worked on SAS Solutions and have knowledge of Detail Data Source Worked on BIG data and Hadoop data
·        Excellent communication skills, strong analytical skills, and ability to work independently
·        Ability to support, reports, application server, big data, sas, optimization, Hadoop
·        Ability to work effectively and manage senior IT and Business stakeholders
·        Good presentation skills - must be able to "sell the visualization" to the business and relevant stakeholders
·        Involvement in development of large scale Analytics tools
·        Preferably an engineering background, with experience of working with Financial clients

Job title: Hadoop Developer

Work Location: NY/NJ

Experience – 6 to 8 years Minimum


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·        Experience on Hadoop, Hive
·        Data Ingestion using tools like Scoop
·        Ability to program in Map Reduce, Pig
·        Advance skills in Hive is a must
·        Data Quality, Metadata, Data Lineage, Data Transformation, Modeling, Analysis, Reporting etc
·        Background and experience in Data Operations in environments like Unix/Linux
·        Candidates needs to be experienced professionals who would interact directly with the client (Global customer)
·        Flexibility to work off hours to meet customer timings if required
·        These candidates with work with Banking Customer
·        Data Profiling, Analysis and Validation
·        Metadata Management
·        Understand Business rule and transformations, implement and test, certify
·        Create conceptual and logical data model
·        Data Ingestion to Hadoop from source system to Hadoop based systems like Hive and HBase
·        Providing support to development process team


Nice to have
·        Ability to program UDFs is a strong plus
·        Experience in SAS is good to have
·        Knowledge of Tresata, Pentaho, Global ID's, Flume, Kafka
·        Back ground in Java or Data management
·        Ability to manage delivery and coordinate with offshore team

·        Strong communicator - NY and London based customers
