Job description:
Seeking a Technical Writer with Programing Experience to join our team in
The ideal candidate will produce accurate and complete technical documentation for the IT Division of a major automotive company. Your role will include data collection of existing documentation, conducting interviews with users (Systems Administrators) to obtain information, investigating applications, and creating technical materials (including product descriptions, user manuals, installation instructions, user requirements, system specifications, systems maps and diagrams, etc.).
Additionally, you will have strong general programming knowledge, with at least 3 years of experience in any programming language, such as PHP or Java. You should have the ability to understand application functionalities and to create full test cases. You will design, develop and test application updates and bug-fixes.
Finally, you will be responsible for basic Reporting and Data Analysis. Tasks include acquiring data, merging, filtering, and summarizing data in Excel, calculating metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs), and creating charts and reports for executive management review.
Requirements:
• Ability to create technical documentation • Knowledge of Java/JSP/Java Framework, .NET, or PHP •
Knowledge of Web application development • Knowledge of JavaScript libraries such as jQuery •
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio • SharePoint familiarity is a plus • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Ability to independently research answers and solutions •
Ability to compile information, summarize and present it graphically •
Skilled in working independently and managing tight deadlines • Detail oriented and highly organized •
Experience in automotive or Japanese business culture is a plus.
Experience:
1-5 years creating technical documentation;
3+ years in any programming language
Education:
Associate or Bachelor Degree in related field
Work hours:
40 hours/week (8am-5pm) with occasional overtime of 5-10 hours per week
