Position: Dotnet Developer
Location – 93 Worcester Street, Wellesley, MA
Duration – 3 Months with potential for extension
General Summary/Overview Statement
The primary role of this position is support and minor enhancements of existing applications and services for the Enterprise Medication Decision Support & Services (EMEDS) group. Secondarily, s/he will be involved in the design, development and testing of major new initiatives (data services and applications) related to medication safety and interventions. That includes data services, user applications and interfaces, dictionaries, interventions, and/or tools that interact with multiple existing clinical applications. S/he will participate in all phases of software lifecycle development, particularly in the analysis and design of technical specifications, coding, testing, implementation and support.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
· Designs, codes, tests and debugs software, with emphasis on supporting and enhancing of existing applications
· Analyzes current systems and develops and implements plans to integrate/retrofit current systems with new enhancements and functionality
· Participates in the analysis, design and implementation of new medication services and applications
· Writes technical specification documents
· Provides technical support of the production systems as needed. Participates in the on-call rotation
· Performs all other duties as required
Qualifications
· 5+ years in Information Technology with at least 3 years developing complex applications and services
· 3+ years of experience in .NET environment
· 3+ years of experience with XML and SOAP Web Services
· 2+ Experience with Intersystem's' Cache database, including Cache Objects and Web Services
· Experience with design and implementation of SQL database applications and services a plus
· Knowledge of Medications and related terminology a strong plus
· Knowledge of the HealthCare industry a plus
Skills/Abilities/Competencies Required
· Excellent oral communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. Must be able to negotiate and/or communicate effectively with all levels of staff, both technical and clinical
· Must be able to work independently under general direction
· Ability and desire to understand the business and to appreciate user needs
· Ability and desire to learn new technology
· Ability to work on several projects at once
· Ability to work under stress, due to frequent deadlines and unanticipated scope changes
· Good knowledge of information system life cycle model
· College degree required or equivalent
