Asalamu Alaikum my brothers and sisters -

Penny, finally got the Hessel book read...Man! Now I see why you wanted to use it for discussion! I am going to do some research on the man, he is inspirational and yes, everyone needs to read that little book!

For those of you who do not numb your mind on most main line TV...it was SO refreshing last night to finally see the diversity in the Miss America pageant! The new MA is from NY, a first generation immigrant from India, and her talent was fusion traditional Bollywood/Indian dance. The runner up was first gen Asian, Miss California. There were several Native Americans, Hispanic decent, both native Alaskan and Hawaiian, and several other sub-continent ladies. Also three women who served in the military. Several were English not first language speakers. Few were tall, blue eyed blondes built like proverbial houses. How refreshing that our #1 adored market place is coming of age! I am waiting for the screaming to start over heaven forbid, a sub-continent beauty to reign! Love it!

Please keep our brothers and sisters in Syria, Palestine, Egypt, and elsewhere in your prayers, as well as those in CO dealing with the floods.

There is a great Jain Festival going on. It is called PARYUSHANA.
It is thousands of years old festival.
One of the important aspects about it is:
Asking for forgiveness from all living creatures for any intended or
unintended harm caused by us.
And also forgiving them for any hurt caused by them to us.
