Position: Mobile QA

Location: Cincinnati, OH

Duration: Long term contract

Rate: $38

Position Description:

The tester supports quality assurance programs and processes in alignment with QA strategy.  

The tester is responsible for providing feedback on artifacts developed during requirements and analysis phase within client projects; authoring test cases; and performing test execution for both project and support related activities. The tester will be primarily performing manual testing on both new feature enhancements and regression.

Essential Job Functions: 

1. Create QA Task List in order to meet objectives and deadlines
2. Participate in Requirement & Design Doc review session; evaluate requirements & design docs from a quality test automation standpoint
3. Execute Test scripts to validation correct functionality of application
4. Manage test coverage based on risk analysis
5. Document defects and evaluate priority of defect based on overall application functionality
6. Coordinate Test script Reviews with stakeholders are being held as appropriate.
7. Perform various types of testing including white box, integration, back-end DB validation, system, and end-to-end testing as needed
8. Adhere to requirement review, defect writing & test script writing guidelines
9. Keep QA Lead informed of current state of quality and test progress
10. Ensure completion of all deliverables within schedule, budget and quality constraints.
11. Participate in Root Cause Analysis sessions
12. Ensure that projects follow prescribed software development life cycle standards.
13. Develop and maintain good relationships with project team.
14. Identify obstacles and roadblocks; and offer suggestions to work around obstacle.
15. Help drive and improve QA process within the team you are assigned

Position/Project Specific Requirements:

• 5+ years of relevant experience in software quality assurance
• 2+ years of testing native mobile applications on Android and iOS devices
• 1+ years of Agile Scrum methodology experience
• 3+ years of using Quality Center/ALM for test case management
• 1+ years of using Jira for user story management and defect tracking
• 2+ years of using T-SQL or PL/SQL for database validation

Position/Project Specific Preferences/Desires: 

• Prefer experience in the SAFe Agile approach
• Prefer Agile be utilized in the current/most recent project
• Prefer experience validating XML responses from web services
• Prefer experience writing automated test scripts using Selenium Web Driver/Java

Other general requirements 

• Understand and utilize risk based testing techniques
• Understand and differentiate the various types of testing (unit, smoke, functional, integration, system, user acceptance, regression, performance, and usability testing)
• Effectively analyze requirements to create usable test cases
• Conduct root cause analysis on system issues
• Document defects with clear information and steps to recreate
• Accurately estimate work assignments
• Manage and seek prioritization for tasks to meet project deadlines
• Multi-task to meet assignment deadlines
• Show assertiveness
• Demonstrate excellent team work and collaboration skills
• Effectively communicate to management and business partners
• Have obtained a bachelor's degree in Information Systems or have related and equivalent work experience
