| JD | • MS SQL Server Database Administrator is responsible for analyze, design, recommend and build of environment. • Responsible for the reliability, performance and recoverability of all database environments. • Proactive monitoring, alerting, resource management, capacity planning and reporting. Ensure the health, maintainability and security of database environments. • Timely response to operational incidents and problems within Service Level Objectives. • Troubleshooting and problem solving for systems in a wide diversity of implementations. Ability to research and generate root cause analysis documents. • Participation in periodic disaster recoveries and testing. • Develop and maintain environmental and procedural documentation. • Enforce policies, standards and procedures to ensure compliance and governance for regulatory requirements. • Execution of organizational and internal department initiatives. Includes build and implementation of systems in accordance with architectural designs. • Interaction with business units including application development and administration to promote efficient implementations and operations. • Proactively monitor and participate in performance tuning of applications. Requires expertise in Microsoft Sql Server database and SQL tuning and an understanding of application development methodologies. Participate in code reviews and proactively provide recommendations. • Implement and support information replication between different database environments. • Superior inter-personal, communication, documentation and customer service skills • Strong time and task management skills and accountability, Ability to Support Off Hours • Ability to function effectively as a member of a team, department and organization • Knowledge of and proficient in monitoring and performance tuning tools and methodologies • Knowledge of and proficient in backup and recovery strategies and technologies • Expert level knowledge of SQL 2005/2008/2012 in high-availability configurations like clustering, always on, database mirroring, log shipping & replication. • Preferred MCDBA / MCT / MSSQL certification. • Strong Knowledge of T-Sql, Pl/Sql and Sql Scripts, Knowledge of Stored Procedures, Database Triggers Functions & Packages. • Knowledge of Power Shell Script is essential. • Knowledge of 3rd Party DBA Tools like Sql-Sentry & any other tools will be a plus. • Experience in implementing pro-active measures for database performance efficiency & scalability in a growing environment • Strong team player with proven experience and ability to collaborate with other server, network, storage, server engineers and administrators required |
