Migrating applications from Unix (AIX) to Red Hat Linux (RHEL) {Mandatory exp.}
Migrating software packages such as IBM Websphere, Oracle iAS, eHealth, Optim etc.
Installing & configuring COTS products
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Our project team in Dallas, TX is looking to fill application migration engineer position. You must have experience with migrating applications from Unix (AIX) to Red Hat Linux (RHEL).
This is a multi-skilled role for an engineer with one or more skills in design, packaging, integration and testing.
The role involves working within the team to deliver application migrations from AIX systems to RHEL on new infrastructure (x86 based).
Critical Skills:
• Designing application migration solutions to provide business capability to end users within a clamped environment
• Packaging these solutions for delivery.
• Creating & updating documentation
• Carrying out quality gate checks
• Integrating & testing deliverables
• Experience of client server applications
• Escalating issues where necessary to relevant parties and the Project Manager.
Desirable skills(Two or more of the following):
• 7+ years' Migration solution design experience on a secure system development project;
• 7+ years' experience with Java and Scripting
• Experience in migrating software packages such as IBM Websphere, Oracle iAS, eHealth, Optim etc.
• Experience of installing & configuring COTS products
• Ability to quickly understand.
• Be a team player, problem solver, positive & proactive.
• Client facing
• Good written & spoken communication skills
