It was good to see so many church people turn out to support the book yesterday, the press played down the crowd after they made fools two weeks ago supporting the Republican party up here on the issue. I can not get over the party chair heading this hate campaign. We had a large group of students from five HS in the area turned out to support the text as their Muslim friends had been asked by the Imam in Daytona not to attend, there had been too many threats against them, and he was afraid the women and children could well be injured. The High School students were brave and awesome. The School Board even had a two page document prepared and handed it out refuting the lies being told by the other side, as the haters had even attacked the Republicans on the school board.
We are not done with the fight. This group is trying to oust 5 of the 6 members of the board next year. Also, they have managed to get the issue stirred in Seminole, Brevard, Marion, and other counties. Also, Sen. Alan Hayes yet again has introduced the "Anti-Other-Religions" bill in the state senate again for the fourth year in a row.
Thank you for all your prayers. I passed on the info about pbj to a number of organizers at the meeting. We all need to be in prayer for each other.

My prayers are with you Sr. Amira and my Muslim brothers and sisters in Volusia County! The same hatred willful ignorance is showing up in Brevard, Seminole, and Orange county schools. So you can imagine that other counties in the state are doing the same. My young Arab and Persian friends are persecuted in many places. Where is the outrage?!
UCF is allowing a teacher in the Communications department to continue spewing lies against Islam. I am trying to teach my History class at UCF the truth by inviting my Muslim friends to speak openly to the class. Diversity in education is key. And so is reaching students at an early age.

Update to the PBJ family = the VCSB has decided to limit the meeting to only people with a Vo. Co. ID, like Driver's License. All others are supposedly going to have to stay in the VCSB parking lot. This might create a pretty tense and potentially volatile situation for those in the lot. Please use judgement and if you decide to come, please come as a group and be aware of your surroundings. We are hoping that the Sheriff's office responds and does their duty as far as keeping the peace on all sides in the public areas.
If you are unable to attend, please send your prayers. There has been an increasing anarchist stream growing in our usually civil, open and quiet little town, and it is rearing its ugly head.
