Job Description:
· We are building brand new platform primarily in Scala on the server-side.
· Develop rich front-ends using JavaScript and tools like AngularJS and use Node.js for building RESTFUL APIs.
· We integrate into MySQL and MongoDB databases, as well as numerous http based services and our continuous delivery infrastructure.
· We exclusively use AWS for our infrastructure needs.• Writes code… lots of it
· Works closely with product management to understand new product feature
· Interacts closely with DevOps team to understand physical deployment and product release procedures Qualifications
· Experience with one or more of these programming languages: o Scala, Java, C++/C#, JavaScript
· Knowledge and experience with Object Oriented Programming
· Knowledge, experience or strong interest about Functional Programming concepts and languages (such as Scala or clojure)
· Experience with .NET MVC, Grails, Ruby on Rails, or other MVC platform
· Experience with an IDE for development (such as IntelliJ)
Job Responsibilities:
· Design, develop, debug, and modifies components of software applications and tools.
· Drive technical direction at the application/product level for small to mid-sized projects.
· Design, spec, schedule and provide quality implementation of a component or feature (typically 1-3 months in duration).
· Provide alternative solutions to a given problem.
· Resolve problems and roadblocks, with management assistance if required.
· Follow through on details and drive issues to closure.
· Complete documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance.
· Actively participate in group technology reviews to critique work of self and others.
· Work collaboratively with all members of technical staff.
· Collaborate with program management and testing peers in the development of assigned components.
· Participates in and provides input to requirements definition.
· Usually provides solid judgment calls and tradeoff analysis.
· Experience working with SQL and NoSQL(MongoDB, Cassandra, Hadoop,) data structures
· Knowledge and experience with Linux
· Experience developing with continuous delivery / continuous integration processes and tools (such as Jenkins, etc)
· Familiarity with cloud based infrastructure (such as Amazon AWS)
· Familiarity with debugging code issues through tools such as Splunk, etc
· Knowledge and experience with Node.js is a plus • Strong working knowledge of RESTful service design
· Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
· Familarity with Domain Driven Design principles
· Fearless and passionate about new technologies and languages
· Pro-actively work to identify and resolve issues
· Excellent and clear communication skills
· Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
Education requirement:
· BS degree, in Computer Science or related field
