Job Requirements: Duties and Responsibilities (including all essential job functions)

 

• Act as Technical Architect for Unix team
• Work user support tickets to completion in a timely manner
• Install, upgrade, and support the products/technologies listed below.
• Architect and implement technical solutions for the products/technologies listed below
• Provide Unix and Linux engineering, integration, troubleshooting, development, and user support.
• Be able to design and implement enhancements in a short period of time.
• Must have excellent written and verbal skills.
• Develop technical solutions and present design change documentation for review boards.
• Provide on-call support after hours and on weekends as scheduled.

 

Critical Knowledge:

 

• Red Hat Linux 6 (expert level)
• Oracle Solaris 10
• Unix shell scripting for file manipulation and program execution.
• Red Hat kick start and Solaris Jumpstart working experience
• Kernel performance tuning and performance monitoring
• SAN arrays and switch setup and configuration
• Familiarity with system-based security patch management and Army STIG requirements
• Server setup and configuration
• Demonstrated experience in disaster recovery and planning of Solaris and Red Hat via Netbackup BMR.
• Configuring and implementing Solaris containers and Linux virtual hosts on VMware.

 

Critical Skills

• IT1 or Secret clearance required
• Linux or Solaris Certification required
