Description
Responsibilities:
• Monitor and troubleshoot performance issues on Data Networks, including problems perceived to be network related. Inclusive of this, perform triage on incidents to determine proper area for further inspection – application, server, network, and/or client.
• Be 1st escalation point and incident coordinator for all incidents within Global Telecommunications related to Data Networks.
• Determine performance metrics and establish thresholds and alarms to proactively manage Data Networks, including proactively sending notification to the proper area – application, server, network and/or client.
• Work with other Global Telecommunications and ITSS personnel to isolate and remediate performance issues of all applications utilizing Data Network.
• Assist in the maintenance and support of the various network management systems that monitor and manage Data Networks, which is used by all employees across all businesses (and various customers/partners), worldwide.
The qualified candidate will have:
• A Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of direct Data Network Performance Monitoring & Management technologies, services and operational experience.
• Experience with LiveAction and Solarwind's Orion desired
• Cisco CCDP certification a plus
• Cisco CCNA Voice & Security certification a plus
• Cisco CCNA Network Associate certification or equivalent experience required
• Demonstrate excellence in written and verbal communication skills at Technical levels.
• An understanding and practical application experience of the following technologies, services, vendors:
Wide Area Network (WAN) and Level-3 Local Area Network (LAN) Data Network Technologies and Hardware, Ethernet, TCP/IP, Virtual LANs (VLAN), Netflow, SNMP, Routers, QoS, Performance Monitoring and Tuning, Cisco
• Demonstrate practical application of the following competencies: Business Acumen; Command Skills; Customer Focus; Decision Quality; Presentation Skills; Process Management; Technical Savvy; Written Communications.
• Minimal Travel (<15%); Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
