Top Three Skills:  

• Development experience with Hive, Spark & Python
  
• Basic Java experience
  
• Batch Processing for data extraction and analysis

• Person should have a good understanding of SQL (5 yrs experience). Hive is basically SQL.
  
• Pythons and Shell Scripting experience (1 – 5 years). This expertise will help create the batch processes. 

Job Description:

• Client is looking for an ETL developer with 2+ years of experience with Hadoop Ecosystems. This includes Hive, Spark, and Python. Basic to immerdiate Java knowledge is also a plus. 
  
• The most important thing is that this person be proficient in Hive and hadoop ecosystems as well as some java background. This candidate must have real life, working experience with hadoop. An individual with only POC experience will not be sufficient. They will consider someone who only has POC experience with spark. 
  
• This is a pure developer role. This candidate must be able to write code in Hive, spark, and python. They will need to write a complete ETL, end to end tool in order to do the data extraction. All of this will be through batch processing.
  
• They are looking for someone who can take initiative and will not rely on managers to tell them what to do. 
  
• The team is managing a project based of of greenplum but the are migrating all of that to Hadoop. They will be using spark mostly for processing but eventually will use Hbase and Impala. The person must be familiar with some form of SQL engine and have a database background.
  
• The whole platform is on greenplum and they are in the process of moving the processing part to hadoop. This is already in progress. They have started on the first module. It will be 5-6 months until they get into production. In the meantime, theyneed someone who can do day to day support work for data movement.
  
• There will be some basic data processing work. 
  
• There will also be project related work.
