Description:

 

The position will support, develop and maintain the State of Wisconsin cloud services automated scripts and operating system processes in order to support critical enterprise and statewide initiatives.

The Wisconsin Cloud services team operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, so this position will require some work to be performed outside of normal business hours.

This contractor will develop technical strategies and processes to improve enterprise-level infrastructure automation as well as guide program personnel in the strategies' execution.

The contracting service will play a pivotal role in the program's technical implementation and support of numerous VMware and Linux environments.

This contractor will be responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, capacity planning, administration, resource expansion and development of critical business processes and procedures using the VMware suite of tools.

 

This position will design, implement, and maintain the enterprise virtualization suite of tools and processes for the private cloud services and infrastructure.

This candidate should understand user and process requirements and ensure those requirements can be achieved through high quality deliverables.

This position will work closely with the cloud services team and engineers to develop scripts for processes, align development plans, and to ensure effective integration among information systems and the IT infrastructure.

Analyze systems and perform usability testing to ensure performance and reliability, enhance scalability, and meet security requirements.
Requires experience and proficiency in discipline.

Conducts complex work important to the organization.

Works with minimal supervision with wide latitude for independent judgment.

Typically requires six to nine years' experience or equivalent education.

 

 

This position will require the following skills. VMware tools identified below are a requirement for this positions as well.

Extensive experience scripting in the following languages:
• Puppet
• JavaScript
• PowerShell
• Python

Experience with the development and implementation of the following tool sets:
• VMware
• SUSE Linux
• SUSE Manager
• RedHat
