SUMMARY

The Franklin County Data Center is seeking a qualified Sr. .NET Developer. This position requires an advanced knowledge of Microsoft .NET technologies.  The responsibilities also include unit testing, integration and system testing of assigned modules. This individual will perform software implementation tasks, including source control and deployment activities. This individual must be involved in all phases of the development process. He or she will be responsible for developing Microsoft .NET applications aligned with business goals, objectives and technical requirements.  The Sr. .NET Developer will also write documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, testing changes and corrections. Revises development plans as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Demonstrates senior-level experience with Microsoft .NET technologies, including ASP.NET and MVC (Model-View-Controller) framework application experience within the full development life cycle.

  • Develops software solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas; following the software development lifecycle.

  • Conducts unit testing, integration and system testing of assigned modules.

  • Performs software implementation tasks, including source control and deployment activities.

  • Develops Microsoft .NET applications aligned with business goals, objectives and technical requirements.  

  • Writes documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, testing changes and corrections.

  • Revises development changes as required, within aggressive deadlines.

  • Provides information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Possess extensive knowledge of software design, documentation, implementation and testing. Technology experience must include software development in ASP.NET/C#, Microsoft SQL server, JavaScript (JSON/AJAX) and HTML

  • Subject matter expertise in SDLC, with a strong working knowledge of Software Development Architecture, Fundamentals, Process, and Requirements.

  • Possess the ability to effectively communicate with individuals who have varying degrees of technical knowledge to translate communication requirements into interactive presentations.

  • Strong web development with Microsoft .NET technologies such as ASP.NET and C# on n-tier architectures with MVC (Model-View-Controller) framework.

  • The ability to integrate language into the end-to-end solution.

  • Solid working knowledge of the Microsoft Visual Studio development environment.

  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and data access methods (Entity Framework and ADO.NET).

  • Strong working knowledge of Object-Oriented programming concepts.

  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain IT concepts to non-IT professionals.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in any IT discipline 

  • Five years of ASP.NET and MVC (Model-View-Controller) framework application experience, at least version 4.5, on full life cycle projects

  • Microsoft certified "Programming in C# Specialist" as part of their MCSD (Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer) program.  This test is currently numbered 483.

  • Strong web development and C# on n-tier architectures.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. 

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. 

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.

  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
