Needed MongoDB professional
Bowie MD
12+ MONTHS
Rates are $55-58/hr
. We have an immediate opening for a MongoDB professional with our Direct Client in Bowie MD. This is a hands-on position, and will including the design, development, deployment and support of MongoDB databases/DB projects. Expertise in additional database technologies including SQL Server is required.
MongoDB DBA with additional experience in SQL Server to support migration to emerging technologies with responsibilities including:
· Deploy and maintain MongoDB databases/DB projects
· Provide Mongo DBA leadership across several disciplines.
· Manage and maintain all MongoDB servers across multiple environments.
· In-depth understanding of MongoDB HA strategies, including replica sets and sharding
· Design & implement sharing and indexing strategies for MongoDB
· Implement and maintain MMS (MongoDB Management Services)
· Administer MongoDB to achieve 100% availability
· Experience with MongoDB scaling across data centers
· Experience in managing MS SQL Server databases.
· Perform vulnerability and patch upgrades
· Configure, implement and maintain multiple MS SQL Server Databases.
· Research and resolve software and database problems
· Establish and maintain backup and recovery processes
· Establish database security procedures.
· Monitor and tune performance of MongoDB Databases.
Required Qualifications
· 3+ years of hands-on experience with MongoDB scaling across data centers and/or in-depth understanding of MongoDB HA strategies.
· At least 8 years' experience with multiple DB environments including MS-SQL 2012/2014 required.
· In depth experience with MongoDB, replica sets, shards, and distributed databases.
· Knowledge of additional DBMS's such as MS SQL Server is required .
· LINUX background.
· UNIX/AIX background a plus.
· Must have a strong problem research and resolution skills.
· Must have performance monitoring and tuning background.
· Must have worked in a large, complex OLTP Database environment.
· Highly self-motivated with the desire to embrace new database technologies and must be able to work independently and within a team in a high demand and dynamic environment
· Must have a Bachelor's degree in computer related field
Additional Desirable Qualifications:
· Knowledge/ experience in Hadoop is a plus
· Experience with Oracle RAC, OEM, RMAN, and Data Guard replication is a plus
· Strong background in replication technologies is desirable.
· Development experience a plus
· Experience with Platform as a Service and Pivotal Cloud Foundry Services is a plus.
